This is the Coffee House Wall for this week. I won’t say that it is your chance to communicate with us, as we are all in this together. It is, nevertheless, the Conservative Blog post that has no particular theme, and where everything is on topic. Let’s just remember that we want to avoid ad hominem attacks on others. We don’t want to engage with trolls. We want to moderate our language ourselves as responsible and mature adults, choosing to use fruity language only where it is necessary. This is our opportunity to show what the Spectator Coffee House Wall could have been like.

More wonderful alien practices to our enriched county
Heads up, everybody. High rolling NATO hunk, Anders ‘Fog’ Rasmussen ‘is the sort of rugged, rangy primus inter pares that has [Judith Woods] doodling love hearts all over [her] limited-edition copy of the North Atlantic Treaty’.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11077527/Anders-Fogh-Rasmussen-Scandi-lous-but-mouth-watering-alliance.html
And people wonder why the Daily Telegraph is going down the sh1tter.
Andy, my old mucker.
Strikes me that your link is poking fun.

Rarely have I found a Rules-based Security System so fascinating. Never have I paid such close attention to cyber-defence. A substantive package for Georgia, you say? Yippee!
My interest in the summit is first and foremost because I am a politically engaged citizen. And not because hotshot Anders Fogh Rasmussen is the sort of rugged, rangy primus inter pares that has me doodling love hearts all over my limited-edition copy of the North Atlantic Treaty. Oh no.
The dashing Dane, who was previously prime minister of his country, has the can-do air of an all-terrain skier, the strong-jawed tenacity of a chap who negotiates the Jutland fjords like a Viking, and the salt-and-pepper hair of a silver fox.
When he’s not being the 12th General Secretary, I strongly suspect he’s moonlighting as the Milk Tray man or limbering up for a starring role in the Scandi political drama Borgen.”
You shoul reflect on the fact that we have bankrolled the protection of you Limeys for more than half a century now.
Oh and Andy
I saw on your TV last night Ronnie beat up on Maggie for real.
Yo, JJB. Is it true that you once shot a man in Reno just to watch him die?
Or was it in Cornshire?
In order to counter the recent wave of incursions into NATO’s airspace by the Ruskies then perhaps Denmark’s “Fogh of War” should team up with Swiss mentalist Prof. Olaf Blanke. [h/t Rev Peter Mullen: http://www.revpetermullen.com/ ] They could be Scandinavia’s best double act since Victor Borge and his piano.
If Anders uses his

First Judith Woods – whoever the hell she may be – wetting her knickers in the Telegraph and now RPM waxing priapic in the moribund Independent.
What a crock of shit the MSM is.
Peter Mullen’s piece is from nearly 20 years ago though.
Yesterday’s Daily Mail carried a piece that claimed hundreds (I can’t remember the figure) of Jihadists returning from Syria have been sent for re-educating rather than being arrested for their crimes.
All of this runs contrary to the firm hand of justice that David Cameron promised us.

Nigel Farage faced criticism tonight after demanding to be allowed to join other party leaders at the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph this weekend.
The Ukip leader claimed millions of Ukip voters had been snubbed while leaders of smaller parties were allowed to attend.
But a senior government source told MailOnline Mr Farage was wrong to make the sombre wreath laying ceremony ‘all about him’.

GOLLIWOGS
Students and practitioners of the politically incorrect may be interested to know that I was able to buy 3 small golliwogs in the open market in a north Thailand city. These charming dolls, designed to clip on to school bags, are about 2 inches or so tall and available in either sex. I hope to find time this week to photograph them and send them to Peter to upload as a supplement or appendix to this post, subject of course to the moderator’s views on policy in this sensitive area.
According to the BBC Harry Roberts was released today.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-30016319
Wouldn’t be at all surprised if the ‘tards sprang him yesterday whilst attention was diverted elsewhere! How long will he last, I wonder?
I support the concern and anger about Harry Roberts being released, but is his situation worse than that of the reported hundreds of Muslims who have retured to this country after joining a terrorist organisation in the Middle East who are being offered counselling rather than conviction?!
November 12th and the BBC is now devoid of poppies. I wonder how many poppy monitors the BBC employ in order to ensure that nobody accidentally appears without wearing one? For a number of years now Beeboids & guests appearing on broadcast programmes that were recorded weeks before poppies went on sale seem to have had the remarkable foresight to source poppies and wear them.

In recent days Germany has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Ironic, then, that following recent elections, their federal state of Thuringa is about to get a Coalition Government of former DDR communists and Greens (cue Kelvin McKenzie)
The Greens (aka crypto communists) have already long marched their way into Coalition government of seven other of the sixteen German Länder(States). Most notably in Baden-Württemberg where the Prime Minister is a Green and a former communist.

Those ex-GDR communist ‘counts’ are active everywhere in Europe. They are not all German either. The GDR Stasi operated and funded significant numbers of “agents of influence” and agitators in the West. Most of those ‘counts’ have now moved into the so-called Third Sector and some of them even established “charities” with slush funds from Moscow and the GDR. Many of the ex-GDR politicians and leaders are still active at the highest levels in German politics, something which is overlooked in considerations of the Germany and the EU:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership_of_East_Germany
They didn’t get the Cousesceau treatment, unfortunately, despite presiding over a tyrannical, abusive regime.
Having experienced the true nature of their rotten ideology Eastern Europe has kicked the ‘counts’ out so they are now burrowing into the political infrastructure of Western European states and the EU bureaucracy in an attempt to set it all up again. Their creeping, slithering familiars like Mucus attempt to whitewash the crimes and glorify their nasty regimes.
Nothing demonstrates the vile hypocrisy of their “system” than Ulbricht discussing Operation Rose with the rest of the communist elite over champagne and caviar in his opulent country retreat. Even Honecker who had presided over the murder of his own countrymen and women escaped a weak gesture of prosecution. Krenz got 3 years when he should have got the noose.
The parallels to what the Labour party has morphed into are stark. A privileged, wealthy, arrogant and anti-democratic elite determined to plunge this country into the drab greyness of a bureaucracy and snooper stuffed authoritarian nightmare.
A startling number of East European “former” communist apparatchiks have “reinvented” themselves as MEPs. Same privileged snouts, different golden trough!
“…The parallels to what the Labour party has morphed into are stark. A privileged, wealthy, arrogant and anti-democratic elite determined to plunge this country into the drab greyness of a bureaucracy and snooper stuffed authoritarian nightmare.”
I see no difference between the Labour party and the Conservative party in the progression of the socialist state. The 2010 transfer was seamless and the leeward direction of government proceeded with the pace and inevitability of a supertanker being steered by its bilge rats.

I have publicised Igor Shafarevich’s ‘The Socialist Phenomenon’ in this forum before but probably during your prolonged absence.

I will add the health warning that I added before that Shafarevich has a bad name in some quarters for anti-Semitism (but also academic supporters who defend him against this charge). This allegation should be no bar to evaluating his arguments on their merits, particularly as he was very distinguished in his original field.
Also, my web censor had problems with the link (‘selling marijuana’), but the alternatives also had their drawbacks. I hope you can access it by one means or other and that you find it informative.
… And speaking of the UAW and the devious intentions of Vlad the terrible, it’s worth popping over to Boot’s patch, where he addresses each in successive posts today.
ACP – got it thanks! Good read. Good anti-Mucus ammo. A combination stake and silver bullet – very necessary weapons in the fight against the were-wally.
For those of you not tempted to follow ACP’s Robert L Stephens link @ 14:29, let me add a further little tempter; an extract from with the first three pages – a conversation from an Athens’s skit (circa 392 BC) between Praxagora and Blepyros on how to implement socialism [Sounds a lot more fun than the modern methodology but nonetheless, parallels can be drawn]:
PRAXAGORA:
Compulsory Universal Community Property is what I propose to propose; across-the-board Economic Equality, to fill those fissures that scar our society’s face. No more the division between Rich and Poor. …
…We’ll wear the same clothes, and share the same food. …
…My initial move will be to communalize land, and money, and all other property, personal and real.
BLEPYROS:
But take the landless man who’s invisibly wealthy…because he hides his silver and gold in his pockets. What about him?
PRAXAGORA:
He’ll deposit it all in the Fund. …
…I’ll knock out walls and remodel the City into one big happy household, where all can come and go as they choose. …
…I’m pooling the women, creating a public hoard for the use of every man who wishes to take them to bed and make babies.
BLEPYROS:
A system like this requires a pretty wise father to know his own children.
PRAXAGORA:
But why does he need to? Age is the new criterion: Children will henceforth trace their descent from all men who might have begot them. …
BLEPYROS:
Who’s going to work the land and produce the food?
PRAXAGORA:
The slaves. This leaves you just one civic function: When the shades of night draw on, slip sleekly down to dinner. …
…The State’s not going to stint. Its hand is full and open, its heart is large, it’ll stuff its menfolk free of charge, then issue them torches when dinner’s done and send them out to hunt for fun.
(2: pp. 43-51)
[end of extract]
… now excuse me while I return to it for more little gems. I fear it may rouse Mucus to further cut ‘n’ pastin’ though, so stand by.

According to Odds Checker, precisely one bookmaker (Skybet) is offering odds (10-1) on the Liberal Democrats saving their deposit in the Rochester and Strood by-election.

I am still in mourning for 22 May 2014 when the Liberal Democrats won one (1) seat in the European Parliament. What a black day for democracy that was. If it hadn’t been for that spoiler party that the Common Purpose cats paw Electoral Commission waved through, it would have been a nice, steady nought.

“it would have been a nice, steady nought”
Methinks that nought is an excellent answer to any question regarding the opinions, actions, or just what benefit they have brought to our nation.

Well how?
Andy Car Park – that’s very much the future: spoiler parties. The UK is a banana republic posing as a deomocracy. No interest whatsoever from the MSM in An Independence From Europe Party. Look at Telemachus whining over Farage wondering if he should lay a wreath.

The barbarian has always followed slavishly your recommendations on links, Frank, and he did so again here enjoying the essay on ‘Vlad on the hoof’ by the as yet undiscovered 21st century Tolstoy.
The accuracy of the piece is faultless except for one small error. By June 1, 1941, the Wehrmacht didn’t have 6,292 tanks as the great man says, but only 6,291 because Hans Weisskopf’s machine was being MOTed.
If anyone wants a more ‘unbalanced’ view of the state of play when Barbarossa got going, here’s one of many sources that happens to draw on works by a reasonable number of historians, sadly by far less qualified than the giant Mr. Boot.

The addition of * to the post doesn’t negate the outrageous lying or confer any quality sadly lacking in the turgid, soul-less and predictable prose.
I do not equate the Tories to Labour at all but what has happened is that with the end of the last Cold War the international left has shape-shifted in its embrace of corporate crony capitalism and usurpation rather than agitation. In the UK the centre has been moved leftwards so that the Tories, after a succession of own goals and piss-poor leaders think the answer is to also move left and adopt a policy of appeasement towards the left’s various grievance shrouded client groups and fellow travellers, Burke’s noisy grasshoppers who hold sway through bombast, intimidation and lack of cogent, courageous challenge.
The argument for this appeasement is that moving to the right is electorally fatal and was shown to be by Howard (dumb) and Hague (dumber). But that argument is constructed around an utterly false characterisation of conservatism by the left whereby anything remotely right of the new left-positioned centre is considered racist, far-right, extremist, bigoted, the province of the old, etc. That narrative has been both peddled and bought into by the media and the reformist Tories from about the time of May’s horrendous and permanently in the back of the net own goal. Nothing illustrates this better than the conflation of anti-immigration with anti-immigrant, so that genuine and valid concerns about long term societal cohesion and the sustainability of infrastructure and services in the face of continuous mass immigration on an unprecedented scale are scorned on a simplistic and emotive level of not wishing to be rude about guests.
Any “comment” from the ghastly Mucus here or there will be found to demonstrate this grotesque characterisation, unfortunately not restricted just to that irritating propaganda goblin. And it has led to a sort of fantasy politics where intentions and appearances matter more than consequences and realities. “This is what a feminist looks like” – so that’s alright then twitter the twee. Bah! Humbug!
So back to Labour and the Tories. Not the same, although the destination of their policies might be similar. Labour, widely detested and with a truly dire leader, are still dominant in the cultural narrative. All misdemeanours and crimes excused, justified, blamed on others or quickly swept under a carpet of revisionism and lies. Miliband vilified but Labour as a concept still perfectly acceptable for everyone from BBC comedians to Third Sector top dog rent seekers who proudly and publicly voice their allegiance to that vile party. Again the triumph of intentions and appearances over consequences and reality. Labour as a product, poor quality, not fit for purpose, terrible service but a committed clientele who worship the brand for what it symbolises rather than what it is.
The Tories, terrified of the cultural drift and hair trigger sensitive to faux outrage, with a core of Europhile reformers, dominated by the left. Like the bullied schoolboy hoping to seek favour with his oppressors by stealing cigarettes for them. Led by a wally with no strategic skill whatsoever and an unerring ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time and then boast how pleased he is about that. A truly stupid man. A failure. The Tories purveying many policies that any fule kno will be turned around by the cynical left and used as weapons against them. And a staggering inability to fight, to get an alternative narrative across, to demonstrate the gumption to pull the rug out from under the Labour charlatan and snake oil salesman.
The Lib Dems then. A party whose ego far outstrips its voting base and which aspires to permanent unelected government. A wretched detached Labour mutant whose reality is adequately summed up by Nick Cohen’s reference to “we” when writing about Labour and the Lib Dems. Two cheeks on the same communist backside. Not content with cringing before Labour the Tories positively grovel to the Lib Dems in government and are rewarded for it with regular public slapping.
So LibLabCon? Don’t buy it. The outcome might be the same (although I think even there is a question of degree) but the parties are not.
Andy Car Park @ 14:29
Baron has the piece in his reference folder, ACP, re-reads it on occasions, has used parts of it once or twice, but thanks for re-dusting it again.
The question is, ACP, how come that this school of thought has survived so long and, over the centuries, the practical implementation of its tenets has been tried out in various guises, it still resonates with hoi polloi, and not only here?
There is a very nasty essay by Dan Hodes in the Telegraph today that reveals how LibLabCon intend to fight UKIP. Hodges writes: ‘It’s too late for David Cameron to build an anti-Ukip coalition in Rochester for next week’s by-election. But there’s still time to build one for 2015.
‘David Cameron is right, of course. If you’re normally a Labour voter, or a Lib Dem voter, or a Green voter, or a devotee of Hairy Knorm Davidson of the Monster Raving Loony Party, you should hold your nose in next week’s Rochester by-election and vote Tory as a stand against Ukip’s toxic populism.
‘“There is a real opportunity for people of different political parties to unite behind the local candidate and to say to the MP ‘we don’t like the way you behave; we don’t like this sort of politics we want to vote for the person who stands up for the area’”, the Prime Minister claimed during yesterday’s by-election battleground visit. “I think there will be lots of Labour supporters in Rochester and Strood who don’t want to see Ukip with their divisiveness and their message succeed here”.’
Hodges is disgusting enough but just listen to Cameron. And it all ties in with the mysterious rise of spoiler party Britain First. If they had been treated like all other fringe parties, they would have turned up in Rochester with no-one knowing who they were.
To get round that, this phantom party had stories trailed about them in the MSM as having 20 million Facebook likes. 20 million Facebook likes. And 35 people turn up. It stinks of a cooked up story and a cooked up party.
But if Hodges, Cameron, Lynton Crosby and LibLabCon are going to get this anti-UKIP coalition together, it’s going to require some serious smearing. And that’s why they got the civil servants who work in the shadows to invent Britain First. They’ve been invented in the name of ‘national security’ and to save Lord Ashcroft having to fork out for more An Indpendence From Europe’. Put it on the taxpayer bill, will you Dave? Ta.
This local news website has been fascinating to follow because it has been inundated by CCHQ and Labour trolls:
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/
Initially by-election stories were getting about 40 thumbs up votes per story (for pro-UKIP comments) and about 40 thumbs down votes for anti-UKIP comments.
Once Kelly Tollhurst has been selected, though, tons of names never seen before were commenting on the by-election news stories. Despite Britain First being a relatively new party, there were no shortage of ‘comments’ trying to draw parallels between UKIP and Britain First.
And the votes on comments! What had been 40 votes on average before went into the 1000s on some votes. Some anti-UKIP comments reached -1000 plus. But here was the interesting thing. Not only were there loads more votes but they would happen within minutes. 1000 votes in a few minutes. Lynton Crosby must have an Indian click farm buying him anti-UKIP support.
And we know Lynton Crosby has a very keen eye on this news website, because who did he send to visit its offices during the campaign? David Cameron:
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/news/pm-in-visit-26785
Oh, yes. Paid-for trolls and a ‘stroke your ego, write me some positive PR’ visit from a sitting prime minister to a local rag. Lynton knows how it works on the ground. They don’t call themselves the Nasty Party for nothing.
These are the key things I can think of to watch for in May 2015 where there is a tight fight between UKIP and other parties: massive postal vote fraud; spoiler party fraud (Lynton Crosby’s Britain First); paid-for trolling, especially on local media.
Heywood and Middleton was infamously stolen by a small margin of fraudulent postal votes.
… BTW Andy, the onerous task of have having, from time to time, to escort the pathetic, sad lost souls to those ‘isolated, majestic, imperious’ edifices, after they had been deemed (and doomed) by a DAO as ‘a danger to themselves and others’ was a sobering experience in my impressionable years. Ghastly institutions! However, when they were ulltimately flogged off as real estate – and the chemical cosh was substituted as a way of ‘containing’ the mad, bad and dangerous among us, the resultant chaos in HM Penitentiaries and the misery that I witnessed in one of my post –
constabulary careers in the NHS, left an even more indelible mark on my psyche. ‘Care in the community’ has been one of the worst of the
failed experiments of successive governments. But I doubt that any alternatives for dealing with the insane will bring forth better solutions; the supply of saintly souls prepared to tend the inmates and patients is very sparse. Moreover, most of the trick cyclists who choose that branch of medicine seem halfway there in making that choice and usually make it the whole way once they start to practice in earnest. The human condition is a fierce and fucked-up phenomenon – and It is unlikely to progress favorably, if history is any guide.

Why should the state, and criminals, have a monopoly? Guns didn’t kill six million Jews but their government(s) did. Gun control made it possible. Tyrannies become established by first disarming their civil population. Similarly, in America today, “gun free zones” give nut jobs a free pass when it comes to mass-murdering their fellow students and servicemen.

Maybe it’s my memory that’s on the slide, as it took me a while to recall what you were referring to. I did cite him a week or two back, about Enoch and Mrs T voting in favour of decriminalising homosexual acts as early as 1960.
To give DK his due, he lets the sources speak for themselves for the most part and keeps his basically bleeding heart sympathies under wraps. But my, does he go *on* about slum clearance and town planning. It certainly feels like that subject takes up at least one third of each book.

Frank P, To an extent I share (J)EP’s romantic fascination with water tower hospitals. Before they were finally demolished they were the object of specialist urban exploration resulting in some superbly evocative online tours (Google: urbex severalls).
I think that in relative terms they also had some therapeutic value in terms of their opportunities for socialisation. Concert halls were a key feature of these asylums.
As for your wider ‘anti-meliorist’ conclusions, I only have time to remark that, IMHO, the Fall is the Fall. There is a law of conservation of human stupidity which cannot be explained in terms of anything else. That’s m’view.

2) When I was a lot younger broads always wore a thigh holster – classier ones still do. However times change and these are no longer practical for modern women in jeans and trousers. Necessity is the mother of invention – hence the advent of the “Flash Bang Bra Holster” (™)

What’s your take on the subject of the report? Kolokoltsev is a new face to me.
As for the site – I’ve been nobbing and linking George Friedman’s operation for over a decade now and still can’t get a handle on him really, other than that he charges far too much for his services if you want his ‘premium’ deal.
This recent essay provides an inkling of his mind set; a bit of a ramble, but your opinion would be appreciated:

This passage raises my eyebrows:
“Marxism’s Sway
Twenty-five years later, we take for granted the moral bankruptcy of Soviet communism, along with its geopolitical weakness. It is difficult for us to remember how seductive Marxism was, and how frightening Soviet power was. For my generation, at the better universities, Marxism was not an exotic form of oriental despotism but a persuasive explanation of the world and how it worked, as well as a moral imperative that a stunning number of students and faculty were committed to. The vast majority of Marxists in what was called the New Left adopted it as fashion more than passion. A small segment of the New Left, particularly in Europe and supported by Soviet intelligence, took direct action and took risks, killing, wounding, kidnapping and blowing things up in the pursuit of political aims. The latter had courage; the former were shallow and cynical. There is no doubt that the shallow and cynical were more praiseworthy.”
Never felt in the least ‘seduced’ by the crap that Marx et al peddled, nor that of any of the ancient ‘thinkers’ he based his hackneyed and Utopian ideas upon. But then I avoided the brainwashing of the Universities of the West and listened at an early age to the Agitprop of Tass et al during my stint with the khaki spooks of the Y Service. I suppose taking it down, word by word, as Morse transmission, enabled me to slowly assimilate and appreciate the idiocy of it. Our Universities have coalesced into an egregious chronicle of treason, imho. Whatever the benefits of the disciplines of learning in the Halls of Academe have been more than negated by the damage done by the planners of the Long Marchwho have infested those ancient edifices for many decades – if not indeed centuries if one extrapolates socialism back to its roots as does so eloquently the essay quoted yesterday by ACP – what a wonderful primer to have available . One only has observe the latest defecation from the bowels of Academe into the corridors of power, in the shape of he with the modified schnozzle spewing out the old crap this morning surrounded by the useful idiocy of the proletariat, clapping like trained seals, at his ‘vision for the future’. The treasonous spawn of treachery, piled generation upon generation.
But as ACP so profoundly observes – “The Fall is the Fall.”
All we can do is observe the colourful texture of the walls of the abyss as we pass through and wait for the crump at the bottom – if indeed there is a bottom. Nobody has reported back – as yet. I suspect you and I will know soon enough about that – or as I suspect, join the great Oblivion and the ‘Peace that Passes All Understanding’ (apologies to you Believers for hi-jacking that phrase for devilment).

“ Will Miliband fall on his sword this weekend? Or wait until after Rochester?”
Neither, he will not give up his position, he will hang on to the very end, him staying as leader is a gift to both Cameron and farage.
Farage challenges Miliband to a head-to-head TV debate:`Come and have a go`.
http://t.co/zRbooh84b9
Re Baron’s link on the reasons for the Red Army’s catastrophic failure in 1941 the following sentance struck me in particular:
“…Thus, the previous assessment of the pre-war Red Army may merit revision. It is perhaps more accurate to say that while the purges, military expansion and technical obsolescence all seriously damaged the Red Army, it was ideological tunnel vision which prevented the Soviet military from identifying these weaknesses and alternate strategies which may have limited the expression of weakness on the battlefield, that truly devastated the Red Army…”.
Will a similar ‘ideological tunnel vision’, the result of the universal adoption of ‘Right Think’ by the West’s socialist politicians, with their universal policy of appeasement of an implacably hostile islamic third world, be seen to be the cause and destruction of Western civilisation by the military and political historians of the future?
Nevertheless Baron, thank you for that link to a fascinating article. Did the German motor industry’s lack of MOT capability really ultimately tilt the balance in favour of the Soviets? As with the West’s reduced capability to defend itself through the use of non Montreal Protocal approved products, we will probably never know, before it’s too late to do anything about it.

“You sir are lucky to have a garden
Millions of poor in tenements have only window boxes and in the Northern terraces a mean back yard”
Says the bogus champagne socialist who so recently boasted in the other place about exploiting immigrant workers to have an extension built on his house.
Call me old fashioned but I am of the belief that when a convicted man or woman have served the sentence that the court has handed down then on their release they should be allowed to rebuild their lives.
It is apparent that some people would not agree with me, if the convicted man who has served his time had been found guilty of rape, in fact a large number have signed a petition demanding that Sheffield United do not offer him a new contract.
Yesterday we were told that Ched Evans will now be allowed to train with his old team so as to achieve the high state of physical fitness that a professional footballer would need to play.
Tonight we are told that the northern hero Jessica Ennis-Hill wants her name removed from a stand at Bramall Lane if Sheffield United offer rapist Ched Evans a contract.
I do hope that this malicious act does not come back to haunt her.
That Ched Evans was found guilty (he continues to claim he is innocent) is quite contentious when one looks at a few of the facts.
He and his co-accused (another footballer) shared this young woman’s favours in the same hotel room one after the other, and yet the jury found one to be innocent of rape and Ched Evans to be guilty.
The young woman in question was so vilified by her neighbouring community that she has been given a new identity for her own protection.
This becoming a nasty witch-hunt.
Tenements? Only used in Glasgow and they have gone. Northern Terraces with a mean back yard. May I tell you, O learned one, that that mean back yard was my cricket square, My Old Trafford and Maine Road, my battlefield and the outside loo where I read all my encyclopaedias When, in the fifties, we moved to our brand new council house with a garden front and back everyone in the street kept them spick and span. Have you seen council houses nowadays?
Times have changed and I too will converse with the fairies at the bottom of the garden and explain to them that the resident leftie still believes in tenements and Northern terraces.

Kolokoltsev doesn’t puzzle you only, Frank. The barbarian has never heard of him either. The Rain youngsters (that’s the staff of the Internet TV ‘The Rain’) have covered many a rumour, some came true, some didn’t. The TV station’s the main source of Baron’s knowledge of things Russian, he’s been a subscriber for some time, but he must confess, often it’s impossible to figure who the personalities are, Baron hasn’t got the luxury of time to watch the station every day.
The longish essay by Friedman reads well, to quibble with what the guy says in detail makes no sense, but Baron has to read it again when he has more free time, digest the nuances, but can he better your take on the issue of communism? Hmmm. It’s more likely you could teach him a thing or two from an angle of someone who watched the evil Empire tick and fall apart from a distance.

I am of the view that, come the next election, should UKIP win sufficient seats to hold the balance of power with the Conservatives, Cameron would reject such an option in favour of slithering under the sheets with his ideological twin, the leader of the labour party, whoever that may be.

For those who are interested in the history of the 20th century may I recommend two book which I’m currently reading?
Deluge, The Great War and the re-making of World Order. and “The Wages of Destruction”, both by Adam Tooze a modern young historian who will rank with AJP Taylor and Alan Bullock.
The first book is a fascinating study of the events leading to and following the Armistice both in Europe and the far East, the second an economic history of Nazi Germany.

Fyi, I just finished reading ‘The Dream of the Celt,’ by Mario Vargas Llosa which is a fine novel of the life of Roger Casement and not unconnected with the history of the 20th century.
I swapped in Chiang Mai just before I left for ‘The Birth of the West – Rome, Germany, France, and the Creation of Europe in the Tenth Century ‘ by a Roman Catholic priest, Paul Collins. So far, so good.
I understand some of you will soon be visiting the Smoke to listen to Andrei Gromyko reading from his misery memoir. Can’t say it sounds like a barrel of laughs, but each to his own.
As a bloated plutocrat, I am always happy to explain to rustic simpletons like yourselves how to conduct yourselves in the Square Mile.
The first thing to do on disembarking at King’s Cross or wherever is to equip yourself with a scallop card. This is a piece of plastic which will enable you to get about on the buses, tubes and so forth.
For a scenic route into the City, I recommend catching the No.8 bus from Holborn and heading east. If it is a nice day, a nice alternative is to follow a van. This is a local custom of long standing and you will see other people doing it.
More than likely you will see bobbies on bicycles, two by two, in the vicinity of Snow Hill. Do not be alarmed if they occasionally dismount to cosh the innocent. This is only ‘pour encourager les autres’ and is no cause for alarm.
As you approach Newgate Prison, you may pass tumbrils heading west to the gallows at Tyburn (near Selfridges). The unfortunates on board are likely to be NHS whistle-blowers or Christian B&B proprietors who have refused admission to ‘gay couples’.
Turning into Cheapside you will see the street thronged out by Pearly Kings and Queens. You will recognise them by their pearly hats and suits and their ‘al fresco’ consumption of jellied eels. Their conversation, should you catch a snatch, is disappointingly repetitive and banal, mostly consisting of enquiries after each other’s fathers and encouragement to strike lights.
It is possible that you may see the odd be-Stetsoned oaf bellowing ‘That’s a big ask!’ and ‘What’s not to like?’ into his mobile phone. Contrary to popular misconception, such persons are not investment bankers – most of whom have decamped to Canary Wharf – but bewildered tourists such as John Jefferson Burns, demanding to know why Stone Henge is not where he expected it to be.

Indeed, DO, but he hasn’t finished his sentence, has he? He’s only served half of it, and now he has to be a good boy for the remainder, or he’s back inside faster than his feet can touch the deck. Perhaps those of an unforgiving nature should remember that and shut up, given that he still protests his innocence and may yet be able to make a case for an appeal.

A tempting prospect, but as much as I occasionally enjoy the exotic sights, dodgy cuisine and incomparable pungency that the City has to offer, I regret that on this occasion I will be unable to attend. I shall shortly be departing to Überwald and won’t be returning until well after Hogswatch. A great pity really as I wanted to treat myself to one of CMOT Dibbler’s pies. Oooh, I can almost taste all those BCBs !
Also, before I departed, I wanted to seek your advice regarding those genuine Borogravian fur hats. I know that in colder climates the live Coyote offers a greater thermal benefit than the dead one, but how did you cope with its propensity for defecating down your back? I must say, even the current discounted internet price of £192 is a bit steep for the live one.
… BTW, is bustle-punching still prevalent in these days of less repressive sexual mores?
EC – If you search Russian fur hats under Google images, there are only about half a dozen that are half-way presentable. The wearer of the one you recognise looks as though he might be a bit of a shirt-lifter, but as I couldn’t find a decent one of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, he had to do.
I wouldn’t have been able to make the talk anyway, having a work thing that blots out the entire afternoon. If there’s another oppo next year, however, we should certainly try to fix something.
Say what you like about Dibbler’s pies. Any meat found therein, if at all, is going to be 100% rat.

I see from that link Hitchens has been following Rochester and Strood via Kent Online (which owns Medway Messenger, I think it’s called. It has been truly fascinating to watch a quiet local rag become the target of LibLabCon trolls putting together the most loosely held together smears of UKIP.
Isabel Hardman wrote a damage limitation piece in The Spectator trying to pretend the poor old Conservatives were too doddery to win in Rochester. She was very careful not to mention the dirty tricks of online smears in the local paper and spoiler party Britain First.
As this endless drip, drip, drip goes on:
‘Westminster paedophile ring investigated over murder links’
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11231088/Westminster-paedophile-ring-investigated-over-murder-links.html
I do wonder whether the paedos in MI% who got their kicks at the Kincora Boys’ Home, Jersey and all the other places in the UK have made spoiler party Britain First a gift to the Tories to keep the spotlight off their back. Simon Danczuk MP pointed out the other day that MI% were up to their necks in all this filth:
‘Simon Danczuk, one of the parliamentarians who has been campaigning to find out the extent of child abuse, has told Reuters at least 10 current or former lawmakers might have been involved in child abuse.
‘”At the time, why weren’t there prosecutions? I think because of the power of the people that were committing the crimes – they were powerful figures,” Danczuk said.
‘”I think the intelligence services were involved. Then I think the front line police were warned off investigating some of these crimes.”‘
http://www.newsweek.com/uk-police-open-murder-inquiry-child-sex-abuse-investigation-284438
They were up to it in their dirty necks, all right. Photos could be used to blackmail politicians and foreign ‘diplomats’ and then apparently half the bloody public school staff decided if it was OK, they could claim it as a staff perk. Just a perk of being above the law.
And it looks like the MI% nonce crew have been coming to the rescue of Leon Brittain of late, planting stories that pretend they had an anti-semitic agenda against him and that it was they who ‘invented’ the story about him all along. Anything to get the spotlight off the old bugger till he’s dead. Why does it all smack of the Cyril Smith story?
‘Keep the spotlight off us, Dave. We’ll give you Britain First to help your anti-UKIP coalition and keep LibLabCon in power. Between LibLabCon and MI%, we all know where the bodies are buried, eh?’
Murder, indeed.
Chimp Smoker
As certain Wallsters will argue. whatever the intelligence services get up to is all in the cause of ‘defence of the realm’ and therefore above suspicion or criticism.
It is the aim of many to extend that perspective to government as a whole.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2834647/Detectives-investigating-claims-Westminster-paedophile-ring-uncover-evidence-possible-murder-linked-allegations.html
‘MPs, spy chiefs and military leaders are said to have hosted sordid events’
You bet they did. To these sociopaths, everyone else is just waste.
It really isn’t too much trouble to help keep LibLabCon in power, because and Augean stable cleanout would show just how connected you are. And oh how you liked to party it up with those connections. Pure effing filth. The lot of them. Defence of the realm, my axxx. Self-interested, self pleasuring sxxt. Animals. Posh-voiced animals.
Apologies Malfleur, I wrote defence of the realm before your post arrived, only because I know a lot of people still believe in it. I wasn’t mocking you!
Defence of the realm was an honourable and real concept once upon a time. But I read an account the other day that claimed it died out in the security services in the 1970s, which seems about right given their role in social engineering since around then.
Those in our intelligence services who really want to defend the realm should be working with their white-hat counterparts in the USA for the arrest of Obama. There seems to be a lack of understanding of the crisis for Britain implied by the imminent catastrophe in the States.
The digital era of media manipulation is fascinating. The MSM do not want people decamping to independent websites. Much better to keep them where they can see them (and collect data on them, to be handed to special branch). But also to ban comments on certain articles. That creates chatter and – in essence – distraction on another story.
For example, lots of venom today in the Telegraph aimed at UKIP. Dan Hodges writes another colour-by-numbers character assassination of Farage and underneath it this commenter notices:
dogdays1
‘Have you all noticed that we can comment about Farage but not Cameron and his team.’
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ukip/11231687/Nigel-Farage-is-desperate-for-Ukip-to-join-the-cosy-Westminster-clique.html
The commenter is referring to this story today:
PM: Ukip Rochester win would be ‘just another notch’ for Nigel Farage
David Cameron warns that victory for Ukip in the Rochester by-election will spell ‘greater danger of insecurity and instability’
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/david-cameron/11232844/PM-Ukip-Rochester-win-would-be-just-another-notch-for-Nigel-Farage.html
Let’s make it all about Farage and his flaws. That’s where the spotlight is best placed. And the Daily Telegraph Comments editing and structure duly delivers. It’s all going on underneath the surface. On top we’re ‘stable’, ‘doddery’ Tories.
And underneath? Don’t be fooled. Lynton Crosby is as devious as the devil, as foul mouthed as Alistair Campbell and he was the man who destroyed Australia’s version of UKIP. That’s what he was hired for.

What it tells us is that the path taken after WW II is the correct one
*
The binding of Germany into an ever deepening indissoluble Union with France, Britain and the other fighting or conquered nations of Europe
Where did the idea of a European Union come from?
A day will come when there will be no battlefields but markets opening to commerce and minds opening to ideas
Victor Hugo
The idea of a united Europe goes back centuries, and has been proposed by everyone from William Penn — the founder of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania — to philosophers Immanuel Kant and Jeremy Bentham.
French novelist and activist Victor Hugo backed the idea of a “United States of Europe” in the 19th century, looking forward to the day when the U.S. of A. and the U.S. of E. would “stretch out their hands across the sea… and join together to reap the well-being of all.”
Hugo, author of “Les Miserables” and the “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” predicted that: “A day will come when there will be no battlefields but markets opening to commerce and minds opening to ideas. A day will come when the bullets and bombs are replaced by votes.”
However, it was not until after World War II that a European union became a realistic prospect.
Why then?
By 1945, much of Europe had been devastated by two massive wars in quick succession. Amid the rubble and ruins, politicians and the public — exhausted by years of violence — shared the belief that such conflict should never be allowed to happen again.
When the Wall came down we saw, not the defeat of communism, but its unchallenged spread, ebola like, to the shores of the Atlantic.
So, disgusting though it is, its not strange to see Comrad Cut’n Paste eulogising the triumph of Germanic crypto social-communism through the EU Commissariat over the democratic nation states of Europe.
Just repulsive.

Here’s another unwritten story about Rochester and Strood. The one that Isabel Hardman doesn’t want to tell you. I have heard of people travelling from as far away as Northern Ireland and Hull to give up their personal time and unpaid leave from work to deliver leaflets and go out canvassing.
I have just seen this over on the Telegraph (rubbish newspaper, good comments):
Chingford Man
‘I’ve just spent an exhausting day in Rochester delivering hundreds of addressed letters to people who had already pledged their support to UKIP canvassers. Rochester is a lovely town but, boy, the hills are punishing. Houses on hills often have steep steps leading up to them that are slippery in today’s downpours. (Thank you, Met Office, for getting your forecasts wrong AGAIN.)
‘The Tories really ought to have the wards I visited in lock-down. But UKIP is rapidly colonising Tory territory. In the streets I visited 60-70pc of houses were down as supporting us. I was amazed: that is Clacton town level of support for UKIP. If it is typical of the constituency then UKIP is set to win big.
‘Rochester town centre was full of Kippers, with no Tories in sight. I peered into their funereal office and the staff looked very glum indeed. Could the neighbouring Medway seats (Tory majorities of 6’000 and 8’000) be well within UKIP’s reach now?’
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ed-miliband/11231494/Ed-Miliband-is-driving-white-van-man-into-the-arms-of-Ukip.html
If this seat is won it must surely be because allegiances switched a long time ago. I do think in the case of Reckless that he, like Carswell, looked at the European results and thought ‘What am I waiting for?’
The big thing here is that he is nowhere near as good a candidate as Carswell so if UKIP win here, where can’t they win?
This, as Isabel Hardman conspicuously fails to tell people, really is the people’s army. How long they can hold it together for, who knows? Who cares? If the only thing they achieve is to drive a wooden stake into the heart of the LibLabCon vampire so we never have to see it again, I think many, many people would be eternally grateful just for that.
Well done to all those out in the rain tramping up and down the streets. I really hope you get the result on Thursday.
Where’s the democracy in the EU, cumrod? Not in its parliament or its commission; In the former MEPs, quiescent in their troughing, exercise no control or veto over the corruptly appointed commissars in the latter.

So, the UN believes ISIL jihadis must stand trial in The Hague.
Oh no they mustn’t. These vermin do not recognise any civilised standards, none of the agreed conventions of war or even basic humanity.
Giving them a trial is a pointless exercise which will just allow them another stage upon which to promulgate their vile and distorted beliefs. Subsequent incarceration will martyr them and allow them to generate ongoing strife.
Sadly, to deal with this medieval sect, we must ask our forces to give up a little of their humanity and treat these jihadis as we would, say, an ebola virus. Do not think of them as human, They are a disease and, as such, must be eradicated. All those infected with fundamental Islam can be easily cured by inoculation with hot lead or the application of high explosives. Ultimately, if the outbreak cannot be contained, then dosing affected areas as well as the sources of the infection with nuclear options will need to be considered.
“Those who want England to leave Hitler’s Bastard Lovechild (aka The European Union aka Clegg’s Pension Fund) are frequently demonised by fascist EU lovers.
“The favourite insult among EU lovers is to describe all eurosceptics as `Little Englanders’. I suspect that the EU lovers are showing their ignorance. Those who use this term in a pejorative fashion clearly don’t understand its origin or meaning. (But then the EU aficionados are not renowned for their understanding of history, their sense of culture or their intelligence.) The fact is that the term Little Englander dates from the Boer War and refers to people who were, at the time, opposed to the English Empire and who were anti-Imperialist. The Little Englanders wanted the English to stop taking over the world. Such folk were, at the time, regarded as unpatriotic.
Today, ignorant pro-EU fascists use the term as one of abuse. And so it seems safe to assume that all those who are not Little Englanders must, by definition, be determined that England should take over the world, colonising distant parts of the world, painting maps pink and generally proving themselves to be latter day racists.
Please share this information with as many people as you can.”

Very interesting though we are not amazed.
Perhaps this is what Mr. Cameron had in mind when he compared Vladimir Putin’s Russia to Hitler’s Germany ahead of G20 summit showdown. Oh, wait a bit though…
Might we expect our valiant if dinosauric media to urge the Prime Minister even at this late hour to press for release of the transcripts and tapes of Kiev air traffic control at the time of the destruction of MH17? To defuse a situation to which he has enthusiastically contributed which might lead to a war between NATO and Russia for British interests which are in less than sharp focus, might be worth a little bit of pressure on the nice people in the Ukraine government, no?
But then the Prime Minister is someone’s useful idiot, or worse, isn’t he?
Whose could he be? Not Russia’s.
For those interested in Mr. Putin’s “game over” speech at the end of October in Sochi, a precis in English can be found here http://www.infowars.com/putin-to-western-elites-play-time-is-over/ or, for Baron, in Russian here: http://chipstone.livejournal.com/1219546.html
Here’s another UI:
““I guess I’ll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine,” Harper told Putin, the prime minister’s spokesman Jason MacDonald said in an e-mail.
Putin’s response to the comment wasn’t positive, MacDonald said, without elaborating”

There was a question asked, when I was a young man, which may be relevant still. It went –
And it’s one, two, three, what are we fighting for?
Noa, thank you, what a fascinating documentary. It’s not difficult from watching it to work out who murdered Charlene Downes.
From the tapes, the star witness was far too obvious in the way he went about trying to get the man to repeat what he said two years earlier. That would have put the other guy on alert that there may be a tape recording going on.
With the cheap route failed, they tried the expensive route. By then, though, they would have been wary of being taped, yet you can still hear the word ‘Charlene’ clearly. Something was being said about that girl.
A bunch of other girls in the trial say they had to put up with sexual advances from the pair of those men and five – five! – post-trial rape allegations against the main defendant.
Lancashire police are now so scared of losing against this guy, he seems to think himself above the law. I’ve noticed that with a lot of Muslims who get acquitted. They think the police are running scared of political correctness and huge payouts. They’re right.
And the guy charged with helping dispose of the body, the girls who gave evidence also pointed to him. They are all lying, he says.
This route of trying to get a member of the public to get someone else to repeat – apropos of nothing – an admission of murder two odd years after they first said it was so, so silly. It’s so blatant the guy was well meaning but unsubtle.
We all know where her body ended up and so without forensics, building a case was always going to be extremely difficult.
Funny how they ripped up the rule book for Stephen Lawrence but this poor girl gets xxxx all. I can see damn well who’s responsible.

The truth is that the history of the EU goes back much, much further than its proponents will usually admit.
It was back in the 1930s, in Hitler’s Germany, that the European Union was invented and designed. The finishing touches to the EU as we know it were put in place during World War II by a man called Walther Funk, who was President of the Reichsbank and a director of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). It was Funk who predicted the coming of European economic unity. Oh, I almost forgot, Funk was also Adolf Hitler’s economics minister and his key economics advisor. The European Union was designed by Nazis and it has been carefully created according to the original design.
The BIS, by the way, was then and still is the world’s most powerful and secret global financial institution. During the Second World War the BIS accepted looted Nazi gold (handling 21.5 metric tons of Nazi gold) and supported the development and launch of what would, in 2002, become the euro.
The EU’s fans like to pretend that the fine points of the organisation were planned in the 1980s and 1990s. But it was Hitler and Funk who designed the EU as it exists today. They wanted to get rid of the clutter of small nations which made up Europe and their plan was quite simple. The EU was Hitler’s dream. And it was Funk who outlined the practical work which needed to be done.
I don’t know about mucus, but why do I get the impression this site is knee deep in snot?

Why does telemachus refer to me as ‘Nico’?
I’d like to know his motivation for doing that, fully explained, please.

Three deaths at the hands of MPs? I’d be surprised if that was the limit, the stories of political figures burying them alive and arson attacks on guest houses where the victims had been sent are rife.
Curious that this “survivor” who has come forward now, a few months before a general election, seems so anxious to ensure that the political identity of the perpetrators as Conservative is mentioned as much as possible. Would a very young child have understood them to be Conservative at that time?
I remain cynical. It seems that the capacity for evil in this country is matched only by the capacity for gullibility. Shadowy events involving the Conservative party in the past are front page news whilst shadowy events involving the Labour party in the present are quickly buried.

And while we are on irony, the answer to the polite question (16/11: 10.04) can be found in the true authorship of the ironic repost to Alexandr at the top of this thread of comments:

The actual origin of this was posted six weeks before the CHARTER
I will post the link later
It is one of a number of posts in reply to AWK that led from the metamorphosis of one into this author
That doesn’t answer the question of what motivates “telemachus” to refer to me as ‘Nico’ and I don’t understand the 11:35 reference to that post.
I would like to give “telemachus” another opportunity to provide an unambiguous and clear answer to my question:-
What is the purpose of telemachus referring to me here as ‘Nico’?
Thanks.

I’m sorry, but the link “telemachus” has posted to a four year old thread does not explain his motivation for referring to me here and now as “Nico”.
Please explain that (the motivation – the purpose – the reason for doing it – what it is intended to accomplish) simply and unambiguously, thanks.
PS The implication seems to be that “telemachus” only came into being as a result of comments made by “Nicholas”. Please correct me if I have that wrong.
Flattering as that might be to “Nicholas” it does suggest that the former has set out deliberately to target the latter for his expressed opinions. How that morphs into “Nico” is not clear. An obsession with “Nicholas” and/or “Nico” and a desire to associate that with “Colonel Mustard” seems to consume this person and, alarmed by it, I should like to get to the bottom of what the motivation for that is.
What is the point?
Thank you.
PPS There are other posters at the other place who have insisted on referring to me as “Nico” or “Nicholas” after I have posted comments under the name “Colonel Mustard”. The reason(s) for doing that have not been explained but the posters (who I recall) are:-
“Jack Mustard”
“Fat Bloke on Tour”
“Thucydides”
I am not sure of they have taken their lead from “telemachus” or whether there has been an offline collaboration to refer to my comments in that way and to attribute my online identity* as “Nicholas” or “Nico”. But I would appreciate an explanation, thanks, as I take the attribution of identity to comments that I may or may not have made very seriously indeed, especially in view of the tendency to label commentators with pejorative terms.
* I use the term online identity as it pertains to recent European case law on the protection and privacy of online identities.
My initial reaction on hearing that an American aid worker was beheaded by islamists was one of horror. However, reading further, I saw that US aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig was a convert to Islam. His evil soul must be now i indulging itself in the Gardens of Paradise as he delights in the pleasures of the 72 virgins available for all moslem martyrs. Dear Allah, please let all converts to your manky following receive the same fate as this aid worker.
The Andrew Marr Show is the LibLabCon’s MSM tool of choice for setting the Sunday news agenda and sometimes further into the week. It is always LibLabCon propaganda garbage.
And this week was no exception. The final blast at Rochester and Strood comes from Euro sell-out, abysmal prime minister and the first person to let David Cameron work in Whitehall (didn’t he let him work with Norman Lamont when the EMU went up the swannee?): John Useless Major.
And the dreadful newspaper, the Telegraph treats his words as if Moses had come down from Mount Sinai with something important to tell us all:
Sir John Major: Ukip is ‘profoundly un-British’
Well, that settles is you mass-immigration loving old toff. Why didn’t you tell us all sooner? The people of Britain have been waiting what to think, so thank God you’ve duly turned up to tell them. It’s not like you’re one of the people who turned the UK into the cesspit it is today and then wandered off to live the rest of your gilded life in an ivory tower.

Another one who needs to go on trial with Blair and Brown.
And there’s even a little embedded video: Sir Martin Sorrell: UKIP’s immigration policy is ‘totally unacceptable’ – politically, socially and morally.
Another one who thinks he says ‘Jump’ and the rest of us say ‘How High?’ Only the people unfortunate enough to work for this tax-avoiding crone.
Sorrell (grandparents from Ukraine):-
“In 2005 his pay was £2.42 million including cash and bonuses. Further he exercised £52 million in share options, is entitled to a further £5.8million in stock, and deferred further options on another 2.65 million shares valued at £15 million until 2008. In 2011 Sorrell’s pay package increased by 70% to £4.5 million after WPP’s pre-tax profits rose 28%. In October 2011 Sorrell went on the BBC to defend large increases in his and other CEO pay packages at a time when real average wages in the Western world are declining.”
One might describe him as “profoundly un-British”.
Any future posts in which telemachus chooses to refer to Colonel Mustard other than by his chosen pseudonym will be deleted.
Quite so, Colonel Mustard. Martin Sorrell’s client list is huge – and very revealing. His marketing and ad agencies have clients like Tesco, which pay huge ‘grants’ to pro-EU think tanks. So he bats for his clientele.
I just thought of one of the most infamous off the top of my head: Chatham House. I click on the ‘Our Funding’ tab on the homepage of the website and read:
‘Details on Chatham House’s finances can be found in our Annual Review. The institute is currently working to update these pages and improve the way information about our funding is presented.’
How very convenient! For now, there’s a pdf of the annual review and from page 40 on it’s a roll call of companies like Tesco, HSBC, Goldman Sachs.
These multi-nationals are all pro-EU, pro-globalist and behind the scenes – no matter how how short of cash they (like Tesco) – they hose down money on these pro-EU, pro-globalist think tanks. Sorrell takes a lot of these people as advertising clients and so sits in an organisation at the hub of pro-EU, pro-globalist thinking. So he’s just the sort of vested interest to come out with tripe about curbing immigration being politically, morally and socially unacceptable.
When you hear ‘business leaders’ telling people what to think, do have a quick look at the accounts for these nasty globalist think tanks and then ask yourself why in the hell these ‘business leaders’ they fund them. What’s in it for them? Because there’s no such thing as a free lunch. They have an agenda and they want it driven (at arm’s length from them, natch) – that’s what ‘think tanks’ are for. An ‘independent’ think tank, that just so happens to have all these people funding it.
From about page 40 onwards look at the roll call of names and then remind yourself this is just one of these think tanks. There are heaps of these bloody things pumping out propaganda in the guise of independent academic research. These think tanks are nothing more than collections of jumped-up Oxbridge liars, funded by vested interests and who spend all day trying to socially engineer under the public’s radar. Stuff ‘Sir’ Martin Sorrell.

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/hollande-raises-specter-war-over-climate-change-133133544.html
The only evidence for global warming which I have seen which is even half convincing was a picture received from a friend last week of a sample of women’s bloomers/knickers hanging on a clothes line declining in size from 1800 to the present.
Perhaps what the diminutive president meant to say was said failure to address global warnings could lead to war.

Chatham House did a good job last year in countering stereotypes of supporters of the English Defence League. It was discussed on the Wall, but did not seem to cut much ice with Wallsters who, on the topic of the EDL at least, are unhappy at being confused by the facts.

Colonel Mustard previously recommended it on the Breitbart thread, ‘How British Police Cozy Up …’
The CP ‘anti-silo’ philosophy inverts what Ferdinand Mount used to refer to in the fit-for-purpose Spectator of the late ’80s as ‘Prawth’, short for ‘proper authority’, meaning that in forming policy we should listen primarily to farmers about agriculture, workers about industry, aeronauts about aeronautics etc.
Their antipathy to any kind of specialism or expertise was intrinsic to the revolutionary programmes of Stalin and Mao. Lysenko’s anti-Mendelian genetics was the apotheosis of ‘Beyond Authority’. I’m still dredging around in the psychological sludge to find the operating motivation for ‘Beyond Authority’ but fear it may take some time.

Having missed the Breitbart piece you cite, I dug it out and read it through, including the comments. No doubt you saw Rollo10’s video link within the comments, with an introduction by the late Sir Patrick Moore, and contributions by Christopher Booker and others outlining the history of the European Project, its insidious progress and imminent dangers to us all.
A timely piece of work that that deserves widest dissemination. Colonel Mustard has already exposed and expanded some of the data from it here and elsewhere, but the video presentation is riveting. Thanks for the heads up; a veritable arsenal of ammo for the battle which is underway as the Europhile bilge pours from the msm and will continue right up to the election. I’m not sure that UKIP is the answer, but it sure as hell is a start, particularly as Rab Nesbit’s daughter is now the SNP ‘leader’ and is threatening to pull a Clegg and gain power in the UK government by getting into bed with Milimarx (supposing he isn’t shit-canned before the GE).
What happened to the promised bonfire of the quangos? They continue to increase exponentially.
Booker and North should organize a gigantic anti-EU march on Whitehall. I’d even drag my sorry old arse up there – notwithstanding the fact that after my last visit to The Smoke a few weeks ago I vowed never to return to the dung-heap. I reckon that with a bit of effort a couple of million patriots would turn out and scare the crap out of the inmates of the House of Parasites.
…BTW Andy, I visited Patrick Moore’s Wiki entry to check on his date of demise: it’s worth a few minutes of your time. He had the perfect answer to the WBGTDWI question: “The Garden of Eden is the home of Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”
Wonder what his pal Brian May thought of that? ☺
