This is the Coffee House Wall for this week. I won’t say that it is your chance to communicate with us, as we are all in this together. It is, nevertheless, the Conservative Blog post that has no particular theme, and where everything is on topic. Let’s just remember that we want to avoid ad hominem attacks on others. We don’t want to engage with trolls. We want to moderate our language ourselves as responsible and mature adults, choosing to use fruity language only where it is necessary. This is our opportunity to show what the Spectator Coffee House Wall could have been like.

A comment I posted in response to the Breitbart “Police cozy up . . .” blog by Milos Yiannopoulos was lost so I’d like to re-post it here. This is the link for those who missed the original article as Breitbart is not the easiest site to navigate:-

It’s a pity that the article fails to mention that Burns-Williamson is both a Labour party politician and Common Purpose graduate.
One of the most unfortunate consequences of the ludicrous PCC system is that it has made police “services” subordinate to political parties and their activists rather than the rule of law. Burns-Williamson is a political elitist who moved seamlessly from Chair of the West Yorkshire Police Authority to the role of PCC, essentially aggrandising his unaccountable power, and who was also Chair of the Association of Police Authorities. That organisation has now been replaced by the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) which is essentially a co-ordinating and networking body that ties PCCs into “national governance structures” for policing such as the College of Policing, National Crime Agency and no doubt the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). Common Purpose undoubtedly has a finger in that taxpayer funded Plod-flavoured uber-pie too.
Networking or “leading beyond authority” facilitates closing ranks, ideological indoctrination and the co-ordination of the usual suspects stories in a way that is invisible and unaccountable to the ordinary people of the communities that are supposedly being served. On the APCC website we find the usual tedious words that the “coming together” of PCCs will make them best able to “influence change”.
So much for PCCs being accountable to their communities. They are just another taxpayer funded, rent-seeking tier in the centralised, top-down ideological management bureaucracy being layered over us.
It is also unfortunate that one is unlikely to find any serious articles in the “other place” critically examining, analysing and exploring the changes that have occurred in the policing of England in recent years, especially since 1997, the majority without any debate or scrutiny by Parliament. Instead there is an endless regurgitation of Bubble gossip and speculation.

A seminal, coruscating post which encapsulates perfectly the intrinsic evil of the latest development of politicisation of the police function. Thank you. Where Germany leads, will Britain follow?
The German coalition government is planning to withdraw from its 2020 climate change goals.
““It’s clear that the [2020 CO2] target is no longer viable,” said the vice-chancellor according to information obtained by SPIEGEL, adding: “We cannot exit from coal power overnight.”
Experts have doubted for some time that German climate targets are being met – especially since Gabriel is defending vehemently coal-fired power generation. According to the Ministry of Environment, Germany would have to cut 62 to 100 million tonnes of CO2 every year in order to achieve its goals. Shutting down old coal power stations would only reduce CO2 emissions by 40 million tons.”

But it might explain why telemachus first asked us to give the “Caliph” a “fair hearing” and it demonstrates that peculiar synergy between the hard left and extremist Islam that has existed since the 1960s.
Left Unity “is a new kind of party, with feminism, socialism, environmentalism and anti-racism at its heart. It’s a party that supports the campaigns and struggles of ordinary people, for public services, for equality, and for real democracy, and it is against all forms of discrimination.”
Seems like a very old kind of party to me with the usual suspects who have been undermining and subverting our country since the turn of the last century. Presumably the red for marxism, the green for water melons and the black for ISIS.
And their distaste for discrimination does not, apparently, extend to the discrimination of separating the heads of “infidels” from their bodies and other mediaeval delights.
Colonel, what is their view on female genital mutilation? That usually leaves such groups struggling to commend it as multi-culture or condemning it as torture of little girls. They often choose silence as the best response.

Prefer one of the alternatives for what?
If you mean an alternative to P & CCs then the answer should be obvious from CMs analysis and my response. The scheme should have been aborted before birth. Better – whoever dreamed it up should have had his head sheathed in a Durex and suffocated before the idea escaped into currency.
If you mean an alternative party to vote for in the coming GE, I shall probably vote UKIP, as it is the only party that has promised to get us out of the EU scam. I’m prepared to put them to the test: the only alternative on that score is not to vote at all.
But I’m still somewhat sceptical of people who jump aboard gravy trains and enjoy all the privileges of the Pullman cars while insisting that the reason they are there is to derail it. In the case of the EU it has been a long comfortable ride which is still steaming ahead and the few noisy Ukip passengers have done virtually nowt to derail it and continue to eat, drink and travel well at the expense of the taxpayers.
As for the P & CC boondoggle, UKIP have not yet made their intentions clear, other than vying for yet more seats on yet another gravy train. Can I not assume that standing for election for any political ‘responsibility’ implies approval of the office? Is it not a fraud on the taxpayer otherwise?
The only consolation I can draw from the current rancid state of politics is that UKIP cannot possibily be worse than all the alternatives. But I’m also not arrogant enough to believe that I couldn’t be wrong in that conclusion; sadly.
PfM 12:52 I don’t know I’m afraid as I was unable to spend too long on their website without the risk of acute nausea and throwing up.
If they are typical of the rest of the Red brigade they will compartmentalise the contradictions in a room at the far end of the house that never gets visited and then pretend they don’t exist. Or perhaps exert themselves in the sort of linguistic gymnastics and mumbo-jumbo at which they excel. As most of the media now exercise a form of self-censorship resulting in the same “nacht und nebel” that makes the issues invisible they are unlikely to be pressed on the matter. Don’t forget that the T-shirt that declares “This is what a socialist looks like” excuses all, but especially double standards, hypocrisy and contradictions.
In the past they have tended to sideline serious debate about such issues by referring to them as “cultural practices” which, when imported here by the Third World, have to be respected. On the other hand home grown cultural practices have to be denounced, denied and destroyed, in case they offend the imported ones.

The gender ands species of the virgins are not specified, the problem here is one of availability. UKIP’s ‘covert agents’ in the European Parliament are ramping up the pressure on CMD before the Rochester by-election.
Refusal [of some EU members] to pay [their share of] extra £5.4bn to EU budget is ‘extremism’ say MEPs
European Union budget talks collapse after Britain rejects demand for eight per cent increase in Brussels spending
“As talks broke down in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the European Parliament accused national Treasury ministers of pandering to “extremism” by blocking the extra spending.
MEPs have demanded an extra £5.4 billion in next year’s EU budget at an additional cost for the British taxpayer of £680 million, an ultimatum that follows controversy over a Brussels surcharge for Britain last month.
MEPs from the federalist European People’s Party, the biggest bloc in the parliament, described the refusal to pay more into EU budgets as “utterly unacceptable and incomprehensible”.
…
Jean Arthuis, a French MEP and lead negotiator for the parliament, said the extra cash for this year was needed for unpaid bills run by EU projects.
“We must have a concrete response to the unbearable problem of unpaid invoices accumulating on the desks of the commission,” he said.
“This puts into danger the credibility of the EU authority and feeds the arguments of europhobes.”
The increase for this year would push the Brussels budget above ceilings for spending that were agreed for the seven year period between 2014 and 2020.
That deal, negotiated at an all night summit last year, was hailed as a victory by the Prime Minister because it was the first time the EU had ever agreed to cut spending.”

To begin with, he declared that the situation is very complex…”…military issues…socio-political issues..” and so on. Then he said something truly odd: “We don’t want to empty the Middle East of Christians.” You don’t have to, Justin. Islamic State are doing this already. Stourton pressed him but he still wouldn’t give a straight answer and excused himself with the cop out, “I’m not qualified…”

Blackstones Commentaries on the Laws of England
The fifth and last auxiliary right of the subject, that I shall at present mention, is that of having arms for their defence, suitable to their condition and degree, and such as are allowed by law. Which is also declared by the same statute I W. & M. st.2. c.2. and is indeed a public allowance, under due restrictions, of the natural right of resistance and self-preservation, when the sanctions of society and laws are found insufficient to restrain the violence of oppression.
1937 Firearms Act
The same year, the Home Secretary ruled that self-defence was no longer a suitable reason for applying for a firearm certificate, and directed police to refuse such applications on the grounds that “firearms cannot be regarded as a suitable means of protection and may be a source of danger”.

That Muslims are increasingly showing the true nature of the teachings of their ‘Bad Book’ the Koran by committing foul deeds every day, is self-evident. One wonders just how many of these deeds need to be committed before our supposed leaders in the western world recognise the fact that they can never assimilate with the peoples of the west and are in fact a fifth column in our midst working towards world domination.
That they will never achieve this goal does not deter them from striving for world supremacy.

Malfleur I agree, the Blair Creature banned handguns in a knee jerk reaction to the Dunblane school massacre, and it was his way of subjugating the people.
I once read or heard, that prior to the Second World War (contrary to what the public thought, that our police-men were never armed) that Police Constables going on night shift who did not want to carry a hand-gun had to ask the permission of their Sergeant not to be armed.
Perhaps Frank P could tell us if that was true.
On the interesting subject of arms and self-defence I can recommend Joyce Lee Malcolm’s ‘Guns and Violence – The English Experience’ which is an objective and revealing analysis as well as a good potted history of the legislation from the Middle Ages to the present day.
“English governments had long wanted, and finally obtained, complete discretion over which Englishmen might be armed. The old notion that people had a duty to protect themselves and their neighbours, so central a part of English law enforcement and of the English constitution over many centuries, was reversed.”
“Government created a hapless, passive citizenry, then took it upon itself the impossible task of protecting it. It’s failure could not be more flagrant.”

Malfleur I agree, the Blair Creature banned handguns in a knee jerk reaction to the Dunblane school massacre, and it was his way of subjugating the people.
From the BBC
“1996: Handguns to be banned in the UK
The British Government has announced plans to outlaw almost all handguns following the shocking massacre at Dunblane in Scotland.
On 13 March Thomas Hamilton walked into the gym at Dunblane primary school and killed 16 young children and their teacher. He also injured 13 other children and three teachers. Hamilton, a former scout master, then shot himself.
Today’s announcement follows publication of Lord Cullen’s inquiry into the massacre which concluded Hamilton’s horrific attack could not have been predicted.
But it made 23 recommendations to tighten rules on gun ownership and monitor those who work with children.
The proposal to ban all handguns – except .22-caliber target pistols – would leave Britain with some of the toughest laws on private possession of guns.
Home Secretary Michael Howard told a packed House of Commons he would make sure the measures were passed as quickly as possible through parliament.
The Conservative Government’s proposals became law in February 1997. ”
*
But then John Major did do something good did he not
“I can’t quite believe that towards the end of this year, we will be celebrating – if that is the right word – the 20th anniversary of John Major’s initialling of the Treaty of Maastricht (signed on 9 December 1991). Arguably, this sparked the most serious split in the Conservative Party since the debacle of the Corn Laws in 1846.”
*
He in one fell swoop created UKIP
Isn’t it time to conclude that, literally and metaphorically, the game is up for handguns now?

I was talking with my old Dad about the train wreck of an argument that Miliband lost with Myleene Klass about the mansion tax. I like to have some statistics behind my morning rants, I take the dog for a walk round their house for a coffee. A quick search on Zoopla, the property website, found 2,783 houses for sale in London over £2 million. That is just houses for sale, not houses which would be liable to a mansion tax. Between £1 million and £2 million there were 4,043. Between £500 thousand and £1 million there were 8,269. And below £500 thousand there were 9,139.
This means that across all of London, perhaps 10/11% of houses will be subject to the mansion tax.
Perhaps that seems reasonable? But taking a look at just one area, Parsons Green for instance, the situation is rather different. In Parson’s Green over 48% of the houses for sale are over £2 million. And if you know Parson’s Green you will know that many of these properties are not great mansions at all, but relatively small terraced houses.
In Lewisham there are NO houses for sale over £2 million and therefore none likely to be subject to the mansion tax. That is surely the intention.
Now that you are back here, telemachus, please answer my question as to what your motivation was in referring to me as ‘Nico’.

Klass allowed Miliband to get in his unassailable argument
“The values of my government are going to be different to the values of this government,” he said. “I say bring on this debate. I think it is a principled view that those with the broadest shoulders should pay the biggest burden. I think that is a decent, right principle and that is not happening under this government.”
Train wreck, followed by the car crash at PMQ’s.
He is embarassing.
He has nothing to say and his questions are simply easy meat on which Cameron, no star himself can hang Miliband’s increasingly obvious personal inadequacies.
There has to be some dignity.
Even Foot had dignity.
Except what Miliband says is not what is happening or will happen, is it. An elderly pensioner whose small terraced house in Parson’s Green (and most are small), is now worth £2 million, must find some cash somewhere or sell up, paying further tax, and move elsewhere. What broad shoulders is she expected to have? Yet she must bear the burden of Lewisham, where there are no such houses.

Some Labour spinners are spinning that in such cases the tax could be deferred to be taken as a form of inheritance tax.
In fact, far from being an “unassailable argument” the proposal is nonsense as a very wealthy person could accumulate six houses all valued at under £2m whilst the elderly pensioner you mention would be liable for the tax on one house.
“The values of my government are going to be different to the values of this government,”
That is what worries anyone who has experienced Labour government or the consequences of Labour government.
“I think it is a principled view that those with the broadest shoulders should pay the biggest burden.”
Define “broadest shoulders”. And the “biggest burden”? Why should any right thinking government wish to assign a “biggest burden” to its citizens? What I should like to see happening is for politicians and governments to shoulder the burden of telling the truth for once. To shoulder the burden of protecting the interests of the majority of the country not just favoured minority client groups. To shoulder the burden of cutting bloated government down to size and reducing government waste, especially the proliferation of interventions the majority did not ask for and the majority do not want.

alexsandr,
Why is the Koran not banned? The answer to that is as simple as it is glaringly obvious, our leaders are totally gutless. It was reported last night that a judge in Birmingham has banned six men from approaching girls under the age of eighteen. So far so good, he allowed these men to be named, but when this was broadcast on the national news there was no mention of their nationality, and they wonder why UKIP is going to storm home in Rochester. Agree completely. Islam is NOT a religion rather a cult such as can be found amongst the most primitive tribes. The West bends over backwards to excuse its evil practices, and FGM goes unpunished for the sake of political correctness. Israel has made a huge error in considering islam a genuine religion and allowing them access to the Holy places, including Jerusalem.
As I’ve said elsewhere, look closely and you will see that Dominic Cumberbatch is a dead ringer for Kenneth Williams. If he ever gets to play that role, then an Oscar is assured. [flared nostrils:”Ooh Matron.” ]

ALL TAXATION IS THEFT! However, having said that, some taxation is required to pay for essential services such as police, armed forces, infrastructure, schools and a properly run NHS which we are all dependant upon.

Harriet’s harpies are at it again. Some saddo who goes by the name of Justin Blanc has been refused entry to the UK. What dreadful threat to the wellbeing of the country does this individual pose? None actually, he gives lectures on how to pull a bird (not the avian variety). This of course has outraged the sisterhood and authority has caved into their demands instead of indulging in the sensible reaction which would have been to tell them to bugger off and grow up, especially as Muslim fanatics are allowed to enter unfettered to sow dissent and encourage murder of Christians, but then, that is the way of the World.
Why all the fuss? The Yanks are addicted to psyco babble and gullibility is etched into their DNA, which is why they would eagerly swallow such nonsense. This snake oil pedlar is of course American, but I can not see your average Brit falling for this drivel, especially at two thousand quid a pop. If your average local lad wants advice regarding the opposite sex then he goes down the pub ith his mates where he gets all the advice he can handle, most of which will be useless, and all it will cost is the price of a few pints.
There has been some very witty repartee sparking to and fro in this ‘ere ‘ostelry on this sunny faux-Spring November morning. Entirely appropriate to dispel the gloom of turgid politics and to celebrate the 67th wedding anniversary of our dear lady HMQEII and her indomitable Consort, Phil the Bubble and Squeak. Congratulations to the happy couple. Let’s hope both are around to celebrate their platinum knees-up in 2017, which may, if the going is good at Rochester ‘n’ Strood today (and if Reckless keeps his lip buttoned ’til he’s over the finishing line), be around the time when we secede from the Eurogravy train and hand HM back some of her sovereignty. Cheers. [sips flute of Budgens best Cava].

Serendipity or what, Peter? The Firearm legislation in Russia has changed last week. Citizens are now allowed to own arms of any kind for personal protection.
It seems the KGB colonel fears not the Russian unwashed, may be thinking more of a conflict in which foreign fighters enter the federation territory, will have to be confronted by the Ivans if everything else fails.
Frank P 15:28,
I’ll have you know it’s not BS. I spend three years studying Turkish at evening class for the purpose of enhancing my experience as a tourist, so it’s all straight up.
But I’ll tell you another thing. Back when it was still a proper secular republic, Turkey banned the use of passive constructions from all official communications because they concealed the identity of the agent (the doer of the action) and thereby prevented the allocation of responsibility.
If we enacted something similar, we could wave goodbye to such obfuscating crap as:
Customers are reminded
Procedures are in place
Lessons will be learned
M*slims have been radicalised
Mistakes were made
The file was lost … etc. etc.
Passive language serves Common Purpose extremely well, given that its defining mission is to obscure the lines of authority and hence reduce accountability to vanishing point.
There is no doubt in my mind that as soon as it can get away with it Common Purpose will engineer the prohibition of *active* constructions in official communications, a reverse Turkey trot in other words.

But while you’re down there, so to speak, WTF were you doin’ touring the badlands of the Near East? The attempt to demonise UKIP by associating them with the EDL and BNP is appallingly dishonest, as was the attempt to put words in Reckless’ mouth about deportation, tonight shamelessly repeated on QT by Burnham and Alibai – pure lies.
Rather than a medal Thornberry has resigned. Good riddance. But I fear that will permit the Red parachutist Starmer to become shadow AG, which would replace bad news with evil tidings.

UKIP have come from nowhere in Rochester to gain 42% of vote. How is that not significant? Farage says that more than half the support was from Labour, non Voters and Lib Dems
Conservative MP Stewart Jackson said “I don’t know why anyone would act on principle like Carswell and Reckless. The most important thing is staying in your job for the sake of all the benefits. You won’t catch me joining anyone else unless it is guaranteed I keep my job!”
As Nigel Farage says “Vote Conservative, get Labour”.

No doubt the BBC resist all attempts to discover the audience demographics on the specious ground that the BBC employs journalists; therefore everything the BBC does is journalism; therefore the BBC is in practice immune from all FOIA requests.
It beats me why this fallacy hasn’t been shredded in the courts by now. On second thoughts, given as how the husband of Emily Thornberry is a High Court judge, maybe it doesn’t.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.
An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to fear.”

Mr. Alexander Boot, in a recent article on his blog to which a link can be found at our Home page, in effect urged a call to arms in the West against Russia. (Useful idiots are out in force, armed with moral equivalence and ‘realism’ – 1 September). This was notwithstanding just such a call to arms had been given by the councils of NATO, but not however in response in response to an attempt by Russia to use armed conquest to solve its problems. No, the call came rather in support of the putsch against the democraticalylly elected republic of Ukraine which provided the pretext.
Paul Craig Roberts whose credentials, if questioned, may be found at http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/pages/about-paul-craig-roberts/ has admirably summed up the strategic thinking behind the putsch and the explanation for Russia’s response in the following recorded interview:
Starting at !:02:50
“What they hope is to draw Russia into it because what Washington really wants to do is permanently to break up the political and economic relations between Europe and Russia. Putin knows this, and so he has not been drawn into this, he’s not sending troops. He has essentially sacrificed the Russians in the separatist provinces in order to try to maintain his relationships with Europe because he really understands that if Washington can break Russia from Europe that Washington can continue with Europe as a vassal state whereas if the economic and political developments between Russia and Europe continue then Europe will be pulled away from Washington and will be pulled out of NATO. And so he’s willing to take the risk for the Russian residents in south-eastern Ukraine in order to try to hold or to keep Europe from being irredeemably lost into American vassalage So in my opinion, that’s what’s going on. It’s going to be hard for them to get Russia into a war because of what Putin sees as the consequences with Europe.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxkObH2kekA
This analysis, if if its principles are sound, does not bode well for the fate of Mr. Nigel Farage or the future of UKIP. He has already put his marker down in his remark that the EU has blood on its hands over the Ukraine. He is certainly as aware as most Englishmman that Brussels substitutes itself for Westminster and Washington replaces Brussels. Will he have drawn further implications when he saw yesterday that in Washington the Executive has replaced Congress and the Judiciary?
Socialists prove, yet again, that they never learn and cannot evolve out of their mindset.
One of their dumb champagne-swilling members tweets about a house with flags on and the MSM goes apeshit. Yet their spokesman Lucy Powell can’t explain why (see Guido/BBC).
Why is simple. This was another crass, left-wing slur on a white patriot. Another Duffy moment. This white, working man had the audacity to buy his house and support his country. He is clearly aspirational and doesn’t want to take from the State. The fat, ugly left-wing cow labelled him as a racist.
And that’s not what Labour wants. Not a slave-client for life. He can think for himself; doesn’t need bogroll like the Guardian to tell him what to think. He knows what’s wrong and he’s not afraid to say so. One of his comments condemns him
as far as Labour are concerned “I left ’em up since the World Cup because I know it pisses off some of the ethnics”
Well mate, it clearly pisses off Islington socialists as well.
One part of the long march, the one through the doctrine of the Nicene creed, a fundamental pillar of Christianity, nears it’s end. And the Church of England, at the behest of the Downing St gerbil, ‘get’s with the programme’.
So the question now arises, whither (or perhaps wither?) next for the socialist working doyennes of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Fresh from their successes in putting “Toilet Seats Down!” in the closets of every Bishops Palace, and the contradictory but ideologically consistent “Toilet Seats UP!” in every Bakery, what challenges await the now?
May I suggest that the next campaign for this courageous scourge of the bigoted should be to tackle a real and growing bastion of xenophobia, racial and sexual hatred?
Let them go into the mosques, demanding celebration of diversity and he appointment of women imams, the cessation of all cliterodectomies, (or the castration of the male faithful, and the full application of homosexual , trans and cis gender rights forthwith. Non compliance to be followed by the immediate closure of any offending mosque.
It is well past the time that we use this ‘mechanism of rights’ devised by Blair and implemented by Cameron to ruthlessly stamp out the pre-medieval ignorance, bigotry and racism which is currently permitted to flourish in these places, spreading a misery and intolerance imported from the worst helloes of the uncivilised world.

I ’ve never met anyone more hungry for knowledge than Laylah Hussain. She devours books and big ideas, relishes argument like someone intellectually starved. Which she was — as she relates in today’s Times Magazine — during her five years at a private Islamic boarding school.”

Al-Shebab Islamic extremists ambush bus in Kenya and execute 28 non-Muslims in revenge attack for police raids on mosques
WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
* Gunmen ambushed bus as it headed to Nairobi from border town Mandera
* They ordered Muslims to get off bus, before trying to drive off with victims
* But when bus got stuck, militants killed prisoners and fled to Somalia
* They forced victims to read from Koran before shooting them in the head
* Shebab said ‘perishing’ was in retribution for last week’s raids in Mombasa
* Four people were stabbed to death on Monday in another revenge attack
“Islamic Shebab extremists ambushed a bus in Kenya before executing 28 non-Muslims at point-blank range in a revenge attack for police raids on mosques in the troubled city of Mombasa.
The heavily-armed gunmen ambushed the bus early this morning as it headed for Nairobi from Mandera, a town that lies on the border with Somalia.
The extremists reportedly separated the Muslims from the 28 victims by forcing them to read versus from the Koran. Those that failed were shot in the head at point-blank range.
…
One passenger told the BBC that the victims were shot in the head at point-blank range after being forced to read verses from the Koran.
Three people who were due to be killed were reportedly spared after managing to successfully recite some of the versus.
Ahmed Mahatsaid: ‘When we got down, passengers were separated according to Somali and non-Somalis.
‘The non-Somalis were ordered to read some verses of the holy Koran, and those who failed to read were ordered to lie down. One by one they were shot in the head at point blank range.’ ”

From the naughty niece:
Brains of older people are slow because they know so much….By Sarah Knapton, Science Correspondent.
Older people do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full up, so to do humans take longer to access information, it has been suggested. Researchers say this slowing down is not the same as cognitive decline. “The human brain works slower in old age,” said Dr. Michael Ramscar, “but only because we have stored more information over time . The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more.”
Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature’s way of making older people do more exercise.
SO THERE!!

must be one hell of a lot of pathetic men around seeing 11% of men say they pay for sex. Then there are those who dont say they pay for sex but do.
Of course we know how big paid sex is cos of the £1.7 billion surcharge we all have to pay the EU because of it.
“Can anyone tell me the difference between Charlotte Rose and Mark John Reckless?”
Your party would like to criminalise the punters of Rose and the voters for Reckless.
One is experienced at coming first at elections whilst the other….
As LibLabCon limps towards the graveyard, the Common Purposers are the elite’s secret army left behind. They can carry on the agenda as civil servants. All totally unaccountable. They did think this through.
It’s utterly disingenuous for the MSM to claim the Rochester victory was ‘never in doubt’. If they didn’t think they could de-rail UKIP, why did they send a government-funded spoiler party, Britain First? Why were the local media websites hijacked by trollers posting anti-UKIP comments? Why was it put about that voting UKIP would lower local house prices?
Dave clearly thought he could win it, which is why he made the campaign two months long, not one month.
Reckless should have had a majority of 7,000 to 10,000. But it was circa 3,000 because of all of the above. It was an absolute onslaught from the elite, only countered on the ground by so many unpaid UKIP volunteers swarming to the area to lend a hand. Bear all this in mind for the GE smears. Plus the hordes of postal votes. You can whittle down margins and win seats off UKIP outright with fraud. UKIP won the European elections outright even with massive postal vote fraud, a spoiler party paid for by a Tory grandee (‘An Independence From Europe’) and all the wall-to-wall 24-hour smears in the MSM.
As to the 349 votes for the Lib Dems! I spoke to some UKIP volunteers today and their favourite joke on Friday was that the LibDems had demanded a recount!
I tried to listen to Any Questions (a dreadful show anyway) just to hear how UKIP would be treated post-victory. I couldn’t even finish the episode. The LibDem talking head was howling at UKIP, accompanied by the usual sealion clapping of BBC political show audiences for bien pensant opinion.
How they all pined for foreign aid to continue. God give me strength. Close the Department for International Aid down and send Andrew Mitchell to West Africa to join in with the ebola effort (unpaid). And since Bob Geldof thinks he’s a man of good character, he can go too.
Malfleur, I too notice the number of banker ‘suicides’. A lot of them seem to be risk managers. Once they’re dead, the trail of evidence about how the bank in question handled risk is dead with them. Blame it on the dead guy who isn’t here to speak. Which is rather convenient if you’ve been taking risks you shouldn’t have. I mean, bankers don’t do that. Do they?
From the Steyn link above: ‘My sense is that, even if the economy was going gangbusters and even if the much vaunted “economic benefits of immigration” were true, people increasingly regard the cultural transformation of their country as too high a price to pay.’
Exactly. My sense is that in the Common Purpose media calendar there are always to be at least two think tank/government report per year neatly placed for PR purposes to spin the economic benfits of immigration. We saw onr neatly squeezed out during the Rochester campaign. Funny that.
There are no economic benefits of immigration. A few people getting rich off the back of cheap labour does not amount to economic benefits.
The plain fact is a first world country has been turned into a Third World Country. Not only is the UK a lot poorer (unless you’re at the top), there is now no community to support the poor areas.
They become no-go areas either because of drugs and crime or because ‘some’ local Muslims say so. That, conveniently, makes it easier for ‘some’ Muslims to get on with their paedophile rape marathon with Common Purpose policemen and social workers aiding and abetting them. I know these facts never make it into the reports, yet ordinary people seem to see very clearly what the acadamics with an agenda deliberately never see.
You cannot have first world countries turned into Third World countries and then tell the electorate that immigration has improved the economically improved the country.
The Spectator cannot be considered ‘journalism’. It is out and out propaganda, part of a Barclay Twins behemoth propaganda operation. It is the Good Cop for Tory propaganda, putting forward the soft arguments, while carefully ignoring the Bad Cop nasty stuff Lynton Crosby gets up to: spoiler parties, trolls on media websites etc.
During Rochester, it ran this ludicrous Leader, which softly admitted Tory lies (they love immigration):
“Only last month, a senior Tory strategist was listing the characteristics of Ukip voters: older people, who left school aged 15, who apparently agree with the statement ‘I hardly recognise the country I’m living in any more.’ The Conservatives should listen to such voters, he said, even respect them. But their demands should not be heeded. They represent the past; the modern Tories should be interested in the future.
“The great irony is that the Tory modern-isers have failed to understand modern Britain. Globalisation does indeed produce winners and losers, but both are modern phenomena. It is true that Ukip is supported by people who believe the system is not working out for them, but such people are not the effluent of the 20th century or stuck in the past. They have legitimate concerns. They should be seen as the most important voters in the 21st, the ones most in need of conservative solutions. A One Nation Conservative party should be for everyone, not just those with fashionable opinions.”
I love the line: “Globalisation does indeed produce winners and losers.” Wow! That never makes it into those reports about the economic benefits of immigration! Because there are none.
And then having admitted the Tory party lies about disliking immigration when it loves it. Having admitted globalisation is scam to make a few people rich, the Leader concluded that to fight UKIP: “David Cameron must respond by exuding a sense of purpose and direction. He should start by reminding people of how much the party has to offer Ukip voters. If the elderly in Clacton are concerned about the future, they should be reassured by the (very expensive) triple lock which George Osborne has promised to place on the value of pensions. The old and sick should know that the Tories have made a (very expensive) pledge not to cut the NHS budget. And those concerned about Europe have only one logical choice at the next election: to vote Tory and secure a referendum.”
The Tory party: the part that protects pensions for the poor (while fiddling the official inflation figures down – as the cost of living dramatically rises), protects the NHS (Jeremy Hunt has virtually privatised the damn thing) and pwomises (no, really, this time) a referendum on Europe! A load of old baloney. And immigration – the number one issue? – they won’t do stuff all about that. They’ll just carry on pretending no to like it.
Gordon brown standing down as mp says he is joining UKIP as the Labour Party is now a party for wealthy left wing tosses.
“who apparently agree with the statement ‘I hardly recognise the country I’m living in any more.’”
As if that were not true! The sneer in that remark is almost tangible. That clown in No.10 was wiping baby food off his face when many of my generation were putting themselves in harm’s way for this country and now, alive and still legitimate voters, they are to be respected but not heeded?
Imagine trying to assert that people should be respected but not heeded for being too young, or because of their race, or gender, or sexuality.
I am sick of the soft patronising ageism and Anglophobe racism that thrives in this country and exudes from such infantile politicians and their ridiculous wonk advisers.
Listen with Mother
I am feeling a bit sorry for the people of the United States at present. They thought they were paying Danegeld to history by electing a black president – well, half-black or a passable imitation of what a black Afro-American should look like even though apparently actually half-Arab and without getting into the Arab slave-trading business – black or white, it’s alright – or before you know it you’ll be into the CIA and vast massacres of Indonesians by Daddy and Mummy’s swimming-pool friends and acquaintances – “let’s not go there!” as they say – but anyhow black enough and African enough to give everyone who voted for him and then some a warm buzz – a Friend of the People” to boot – everything will be just fine – jackpot!
Now, as the Columbia student with an iffy background that no-one wants to ask too much about, unless they want to fall under a UPS van, morphs into a jive* monarch, we have to ask the dread question: COULD IT HAPPEN HERE?
The answer to which, I think, is “NOT ON YOUR NELLIE”!
The reason for said answer being: “WE’VE ALREADY GOT ONE” and well-fenced in – sort of.
Or rather, we could say we have four monarchs: two dignified monarchs in London; and two efficient monarchs, one in Brussels and one in Washington, fighting for the Crown of the dignified ones.
Consequently, if David Cameron or his successor, Nigel Farage, were to feel a wave of the purples coming over him and be secretly trying on an olive crown in the House of Commons dressing room after hours, he would be unlikely to travel far down the Appian Way before being pulled up short by one or other of the other monarchs – or even by the House, which is little more difficult than the Congress to render impotent – though as the USA has shown a little blackmail and bribery goes a long way.
Our constitutional monarchy is therefore probably safe from an attack of Obama-esque folie de grandeur, whether accidentally or deiberately brought on by our handlers, and mostly has to be concerned at the ambitions of the rival monarchs – par for the course for the monarchy for the last 1200 years or so,no? Oooo, I just got a warm buzz.

*.8 Jive
Adjective: ridiculous, superfluous, unnecessary, or foolish.
Generally a description paired with turkey, but any combination is acceptable.
Why you gotta be trippin’? Jive white ass turkey. (h/t Urban Dictionary)
It’s true Colonel Mustard. People read and hear all the endless propaganda and say to themselves: but that’s not what I see. And for those who dare to point out in a civil fashion: ‘I hardly recognise the country I’m living in any more’, well, the Tories say they should be listened to. Aren’t they lucky.
Possibly, even – if they are rich enough to be allowed to hold that opinion – respected. Yes, we’ll respect one or two of you. But, as per the Spectator, we will never, ever heed you. ‘Immgration is best for the economy.’
They have run that bloody trope since the 1950s, people were going to see through it at some point. Never mind, delay and distract. Listen, respect if you absolutely have to, but don’t do a XXXXing thing the electorate ask for.
I repeat my plea: please, UKIP, drive a stake into the Tory Party vampire so it never gets up again. The Tory party despises the people of Britain.
At last some good news:
“SAS troops with sniper rifles and heavy machine guns have killed hundreds of Islamic State extremists in a series of deadly quad-bike ambushes inside Iraq, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. Defence sources indicated last night that soldiers from the elite fighting unit have eliminated ‘up to eight terrorists per day’ in the daring raids, carried out during the past four weeks. Until now, it had been acknowledged only that the SAS was operating in a reconnaissance role in Iraq and was not involved in combat. But The Mail on Sunday has learned that small groups of soldiers are being dropped into IS territory in RAF Chinook helicopters – to take on the enemy. “
And the hero of all this
*
Tony Blair has urged Britain not to rule out sending ground troops to combat the Islamic State (Isis), arguing air strikes are not enough to defeat the terrorist group.
In a 6,500 word essay published on his website, the former Prime Minister said that with the consent of Iraq and Syria and a broad international alliance including Arab countries, David Cameron could avoid the “weaknesses” of Western strategy after September 11th.
Mr Blair, whose political career was defined by his decision to follow America into war in Iraq and Afghanistan, said he fully accepted there is “no appetite” for ground engagement in the West but it may be necessary.
“We have to fight groups like Isis,” he wrote. “There can be an abundance of diplomacy, all necessary relief of humanitarian suffering, every conceivable statement of condemnation which we can muster, but unless they’re accompanied by physical combat, we will mitigate the problem but not overcome it…
Hitchens has an interesting column this morning, which rather explains the lack of the media explaining what has just happened in Rochester. To summarise, UKIP won the Euro elections outright despite massive fraud (postal votes, spoiler parties etc) and MSM smears.
On the back of that, Carswell defected, knowing not just how strong the UKIP figures were for Essex but that this is not a protest vote. The Tories did not challenge him, so it could not be seen as a litmus test. UKIP itself thinks it could have won Heywood and Middleton at the same time because, even though the seat was lost to a few hundred fraudulent postal votes, the party was totally committed to Clacton and making sure that Carswell was supported. They owed him, big time.
Rochester, though, was where the time – and as Hitchens points out – the BIG money was spent by the Tories. A lot of that money was spent on online activity, some of it even involving legitimate online ads, but a lot of of it was paid-for trolls and troll votes on news website comment sections. That spoiler party, Britain First, they too were backed by big money, even if it was taxpayer funded. Reckless himself is a very poor public speaker and as a weak a candidate you will ever see. Dave went there five times. The shadow cabinet went there over and over. And still UKIP won.
Rochester was the litmus test. This UKIP revolution is permanent. If, after all that money and even with a weak candidate UKIP are winning outright, Hitchens says what’s to stop them taking many similar seats in May 2015, from Tories and Labour (Heywood and Middleton may have been a UKIP seat had it not been distracted with Carswell).
That’s the story. And Hitchens points out that all the space filler about Emily Thornberry is to distract from that. It’s the MSM saying: let’s buy LibLabCon some breathing space so we can all re-group an work out what we are going to do about UKIP before May 2015.
So of course no one in media land gave a stuff about the Emily Thornberry story. It’s a smokescreen story to cover up what you might have noticed about the fact that LibLabCon has never been more hated. And that UKIP – despite the odds still being fixed against them by the MSM and LibLabCon – keep winning.
Thornberry’s tale is an MSM non-story to buy time and distract the public while everyone sits down to work out a new anti-UKIP strategy.

Ex-Mayor Barry dies.
I remember a sketch from `Week-ending`:Radio 4.
“Twelve foot of snow fell in Washington last weekend. It didn’t hold-up traffic none;Mayor Barry shoved it all up his nose.”
This is the other reason the elite fear the rise of non LibLabCon parties:
Former Scotland Yard detectives say young boys were murdered by Westminster paedophile ring
New claims reportedly made in written statements by two retired officers
Emerged after witness ‘Nick’ claimed he saw Tory MP throttle a boy, 12
Scandal revolves round Elm Guest House and Dolphin Square in London
Two journalists say they were barred from reporting for ‘national security’
But ‘D-notice requests from government in 1984’ have now been destroyed
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2845969/Former-Scotland-Yard-detectives-say-young-boys-murdered-Westminster-paedophile-ring.html
I wish I could say ‘at last’. But we all know what happened next. What was a cottage industry was turned into asn industrisal industry with ‘care’ homes used as suppliers to high-end paedo clientele: MPs, judges, security people etc, etc. And a lot of Common Purpose staff involved.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2844765/Paedophile-orgies-luxury-flats-claims-three-boys-murdered-VIPs-Special-report-growing-stench-cover-Establishment.html
MP John Mann: ‘There was talk of dogs being involved and beatings. I would describe it as quite awful; the sort of thing you don’t easily forget.’
Journalist Guy Adams: “While a definitive ‘smoking gun’ is yet to emerge, the surprising number of parallels between the cases, and the weight of evidence to support the often-outlandish claims at their centre, leaves me in little doubt that some sort of Establishment paedophile ring existed in Britain in the 1970s and 1980s. And it seems increasingly likely many of its members were protected by the security services.”
And that’s why nobody will ever get to the bottom of it. This is what happens when you power run unchecked. They don’t want themselves implicated and they don’t want to lose what – for some of them – became a perk of the job. They are – and, boy, don’t they know it – a law unto themselves. Anything you can think of, they’ve done worse.

“Two journalists say they were barred from reporting for ‘national security’”
Time for Frank P to recognize that the “national security” gambit cannot be allowed as a blanket cover for crime, corruption and subversion of the constitution.
We must distinguish between real national security interests and their invocation to deflect the searchlight from the abuse of power.
‘Four or five’ terror plots against Britain foiled already this year, reveals Scotland Yard chief Bernard Hogan-Howe
There’s a steady drip, drip, drip of these stories in the run-up to more data snatching by Theresa May (she’s after more internet snooping, again). We are all supposed to doff our cap and say: ‘Take our freedom, please.’
Theresa May and Boris Johnson are treated with special deference by the MSM because when the Cameron fraud has run its course (surely not long now) these are the people lined up to scam the public next. A fresh face at the front of the shop selling the same old dodgy goods. I don’t think it will work like that next time though. I don’t know anyone who rates Theresa May or Boris Kemal Johnson.
Mr Kemal would do better to open up a kebab shop. It might make the customers physically sick, but that would be no different to his tenure as a politician.
In the DM: Barking MP Margaret Hodge …
So aptly put!
981 years ago Europe was sending its people on a religious crusade to protect the Christians (and Jews) of the middle east from mass rape, enslavement and genocide .
Now we send muslims, (2,000 of them from Britain), to complete it.

Since this is the end of the week, I will quote in full the following summary of the disaster that has overtaken the government of the United States – ‘the last best hope of earth’:
“King Obama betters the tyranny of King George
By Bruce Fein – – Sunday, November 23, 2014
How the times have changed for the worse!
As the Revolutionary War came to a close, King George III asked American-born painter Benjamin West about George Washington’s plans after winning independence. West replied, “They say he will return to his farm.”
“If he does that,” said the king, “he will be the greatest man in the world.”
He did. And he was — through the influence of example without a standing army.
Jump forward 240 years.
President Barack Obama currently exercises more unchecked, tyrannical power than King George III, whose tyrannies provoked the Declaration of Independence and Revolutionary War won by General Washington.
Mr. Obama has exterminated American citizens not accused of crime without due process of law on his secret say-so alone.
He has initiated wars against Libya, Syria, and the Islamic State without congressional authorization.
He has imprisoned persons indefinitely without accusation or trial at Guantanamo Bay — even detainees whom the military has found to be innocent of international terrorism.
He has used military tribunals in lieu of independent courts for the prosecution of civilian offenses.
He has substituted executive agreements for treaties to extend United States troop and combat commitments in Afghanistan and to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
He has issued presidential signing statements to unilaterally de facto void provisions of duly enacted laws.
He has refused to enforce deportation laws and prohibitions on torture and warrantless surveillance of American citizens in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.
He has expended money contrary to the limits set by Congress in appropriation measures.
He has placed the entire United States population under dragnet surveillance in violation of the Fourth Amendment’s right to be let alone — the most cherished right among civilized peoples.
He has frustrated legislative or judicial oversight by improper invocations of state secrets or executive privilege.
He has issued executive orders regulating government contactors which usurp the legislative powers of Congress.
He has brandished the Espionage Act to impair freedom of the press.
He has failed to superintend the conduct of his subordinates in the Internal Revenue Service, Central Intelligence Agency, and Office of National Intelligence so as to check their lawlessness or excesses.
Even more harrowing than Mr. Obama’s lawless actions are the constitutional principles he has asserted. He claims a limitless power to murder any citizen whom he unilaterally concludes based on secret evidence may be a national security threat. He further insists that neither Congress nor the judiciary are authorized to second guess presidential murders. That is the most awesome power ever possessed by any tyrant since the beginning of time.
Equally frightening is Mr. Obama’s claimed right to initiate and to continue global warfare for any reason or no reason in perpetuity without congressional authorization. War is the death knell for liberty, transparency, the rule of law, and the Constitution’s separation of power. Alexis de Tocqueville lectured in Democracy in America: “All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and the shortest means to accomplish it.”
Those who won our independence did not idle in the face of tyrannical principles such as these. James Madison, father of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, taught: “The free men of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise, and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much soon to forget it.”
I have been warning against congressional surrenders and presidential usurpations of power that are crushing liberty and crippling the rule of law for almost a decade, including Constitutional Peril: The Life and Death Struggle for Our Constitution and Democracy, and American Empire Before The Fall. Time has more than vindicated my warnings.
It takes willful blindness not to see we will be living under one branch tyranny in a few decades if we do not find the courage to protest the president’s vandalizing of the Constitution with the acquiescence of Congress and the Supreme Court. If we shy from our duty, we will be execrated by posterity for readily surrendering liberty won at such high cost by men who risked their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.”

It seems a ‘lone wolf’ attack is now almost a certainty.
Perhaps, as the followers of the desert perv believe their medieval laws supplant all other, the time has come to withdraw societal protection from them. No Police response if they are attacked, no Fire Engines if their hell-hovels burn to the ground, no medical treatment if they are injured.
If they want nothing to do with our civilisation, let them have just that.

Hahaha pathetic thread. Grow up, go outside and meet a muslim (I have muslim neighbors). Read the quran from start to end. Oh, and take your heads out from between your knees.
